“A film photo is not just a photo, there are many stories behind it.”

Mr. Woody Luk's heart and soul are all on the camera’s lens. Underneath his lens are the changes in the community.

Photography is about time. That's why time is so important to Woody. His father spent several hundred dollars to buy him a watch when he was small, advising him to be mindful of timing at school. He has memorized this strict concept of time and has been punctual all his life. At the same time, he also developed a hobby of collecting watches.

His photography, however, is often time-consuming. Lived in Tai Kok Tsui for half a century, Woody often spends a lot of time with Tai Kok Tsui residents. The longest time he spent was nine months contacting and visiting a store again and again, until the store owner was willing to let him take a picture of the place where he grew up. He did not detach himself from the dimension of time, but witnessed and recorded every moment of it.

When we look at “change” from a broader perspective, each momentary “change” is inevitable and unique. The work is made from Woody's plastic watch, removing the plastic case and the watch movement , the watch is transformed into a kaleidoscopic tunnel. Let's look at Tai Kok Tsui through Woody's tunnel of vision, learn to accept change and cherish the present.
